Celestecord #Map_making: Before You Ask
"Why do I need to read this? What?"
- Learning to solve problems on your own is a VERY valuable and essential skill when it comes to making Celeste maps.
- There are SO many resources written that probably answer that exact question you have, more thoroughly than we will.
- You'll become a better and more knowledgeable mapper! You can teach yourself to do whatever you want :D
Before you ask #map_making, ask yourself:
"Could I try it and see?"
Your question might be answered by opening Lรถnn or Celeste and simply trying it for yourself.
"Have I checked the pinned messages in #map_making?"
The pinned messages in #map_making have a lot of helpful links and advice for new mappers. They also contain links to useful resources for mappers of all skill levels.
"Is it on the Everest Wiki?"
Almost always, yes. Please make sure you take your time and properly search through it. If results for a word don't pop up instantly, try searching for synonyms.
The Everest Wiki
"Have I checked the Modder's Toolkit?"
The Modder's Toolkit contains links to all major resources. Make sure you've searched through all relevant resources/documentation.

"Has anyone on Discord asked this question already?"
Almost certainly. Sometimes it can be hard to search things on Discord due to needing to know the proper words to search. That's totally normal! Try keeping your search basic. Don't forget to use in:#map_making to narrow your search results!
"Have I spent at least 15 minutes trying to solve this on my own?"
After asking yourself the above questions and acting on them, make sure you've spent at least 15 minutes researching before asking.
Thank you for BYAing!
After you've asked yourself all the BYA questions, go ahead and ask your question in #map_making! We're here to help. None of us like being lost or confused either, so ask away!
